About Dr. Michael Claro Dejos
Dr. Michael Claro Dejos is a patient safety and quality leader with extensive experience in healthcare leadership and quality improvement. A former pharmacy executive at Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, he also serves as Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and is a member of the FDA Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee.
Dr. Dejos is past Chairman of the Medication Safety Section Advisory Group for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and has collaborated with the Institute for Safe Medication Practices (ISMP) on national safety initiatives and guidelines.
He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, completed residencies at Penn State Health and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and received his Executive MBA from Vanderbilt University. His work focuses on medication-use safety, system-level error reduction, and advancing automation and clinical support systems.
